Larrakia country sits surrounding a sacred space – Kenbi Kenbi (Darwin Harbour). A precious and sacred resource, Kenbi Kenbi holds songlines, creation stories, food and valuable ecosystems for Larrakia people and others who call Darwin home. Our creeks, rivers and fresh water flow into the harbour, we are all connected to the area through our everyday lives.
The logo design explores the connection the waterways and ourselves have with the centrepiece of Darwin's landscape. The colours of the logo are inspired by the various natural colours found in the beaches and natural landscapes of Darwin.
The artist Cyan Sue-Lee is a proud Larrakia woman, with Wardaman, Karajarri connections. She is from a prominent artistic Larrakia family, the Lee/Cubillos. She draws inspiration from her family and the natural landscapes she calls home.
